a sheer boring gold shimmer, new old stuff and a few more nail blog links I missed yesterday ♥

No-Name Icing gold shimmery polish, 2 coats layered over Naturistic's Chrome in Solid Gold with 1 coat of TC.

This polish, along with the others that came with it in the mini 5 set are very sheer. They are build able but need 4 to 5 coats to hide VNL. I'll have to hunt around for some photos where I compared this to something else.

Also; Here is a few more nail blog links, I thought I had these on my list for yesterday - oops!

...and some old school Nail Fetish nails I found at my favirote dollar store in town.... a long, long time ago I had these in forrest green, they were a gift from my friend 'C' who bought them a gazillion years ago, and I also recieved some from another friend 'A'  as a gift as well. I was surprised to see these in the store, so of course I had to but them.

I am not sure how old these are but I love pre-painted artificial nails

L-R, vampy red, bright copper and shimmery lilac

anyhoo- here is a few more photos of this sheer shimmery polish.

Pro 10 Updo

2 coats layered over 2 coats of Naturistic's chrome in Solid Gold w/ 1 coat of TC

Just before I added Top Coat to this mani I scraped off a huge swathe across my middle nail, so I filled it in with polish  and applied a gold/silver shamrock to disguise. Oh nail stickers; you have saved the day so many times for me.

this is the only Pro 10 polish I own, any others I have seen in the store are plain and boring, but this one looked pretty in the bottle. The base is somewhat milky, but barely deposits that colour on the nail. I love the small gold glitter, it is sparkly and bright. I need more gold glitter in my life.

This is one of those polish's that has a coarse texture to it, and needs alot of top coat to smooth it out for a glossy mirror finish. Here I have only used 1 coat of Top Coat, and probably wont add another as I plan on redoing my nails. This week I hope to focus on wearing ALL my Gold polish's that are untried/un-worn, so un-officially it is 'Gold-week' for me.

Here is a bottle of polish that has been sitting around for a year or so, I thought that it looked weird/cool how it had separated like this. This is an older bottle of LA Colors - I loved the brush on these.

My Base for this mani was Naturistic's chrome in Solid Gold, it is not what i would call gold, but a nice silver with subtle hints of golden tone lol - I should have taken a better pic but you can see the circular flaws from the ELF Glitter  I wore previously. I need a serious buffing.

and here is what I did to my nail, grrrrrr - I think I did a good job of disguising that!

♥ LAZERZ ♥

Someone else did this look and blogged abut this in early spring..... I know I have seen this on another blog. I loved it and always wanted to try it...... Sadly it did not work out as good for me, but I still wanted to post it.

Anyhoo- I started with some forgotten Halloween nails which I never used, I buffed off the bat & moon image and applied a coat of black polish, just to even things out . Then used those dental floss pick things to make these lines.....Whoever I copied this look from did a much better job then I did but I really, really wanted to try and re-create it, because it looked soooo cool!

I didn't bother adding another coat of top coat, because I am taking this off shortly. I also snapped my thumb nail in half...Sigh - I used Naturistic's Super Chrome polish's for the laser lines; Ruby Reflection, Gun Metal, Deep Violet & Blue Spark. I love these Super Chromes.

This reminds me of school art time where you put pieces of yarn in paint, then squish them between a piece of folded paper..... I wont call this a total fail, because I learned alot with this 'technique' for future nail art.

I know I have seen this done with much, much better results, hope someone can point me in the right direction!

♥ Naturistic's Super Chrome - 'Blue Spark' ♥

Naturistic's Super Chrome - 'Blue Spark' 3 coats & 2 coats of Nailene T.C. ~

NOTE: this is an older post I never got around to posting. I will be working on my newest nail project and some other crafty things & around the house stuff = so I am posting all the posts waiting to be posted.....

Wooooooooooooow - I almost did not buy this polish.... The bottles are opaque silver and I missed it the first time that I visited another a bargain store in my town. This color combined with this finish is mesmerizing. I am a little embarrassed to post this with the surface of my nails in the condition that they are in. But I had to do a mani with this as soon as I could.

The color is a little off, but it does have this glow to it in real life. I love polish's that are noticeable in dim dark lighting, and this one reflected everything.

Is there an intense blue chrome polish like this available today? This is a real stunner!

~ Naturistic's Super Chrome 'Ruby Reflection' - 2 coats on Nailene T.C. ~

NOTE: this is an older post I never got around to posting. I will be working on my newest nail project and some other crafty things & around the house stuff so I am posting all the posts waiting to be posted.....

I keep ending up wearing these "camera bust'in" bright magenta's..... I love how these look IRL= but can never capture it on camera. The full mani photos actually came out better than the skittles photos... so I shouldn't complain. There is just something about this color that does not translate well to photos. Oh well.... Here is the lovely Naturistic's Super Chrome 'Ruby Reflection'. I pulled this off with 2 coats which I am happy with, but chrome polish's are very unforgiving, every little flaw on your nails is visible.

I have done a skittles with this polish, with the only outside photos I could get. I will definitely be wearing this one again in the future= but with brand spank'in new false nails..... Hats off to those who opt for natural nails and lots of ridge filler when wearing Chrome or mirror finish polish's!

♥ Naturistic's Super Chrome - 'Gun Metal' ♥

Naturistic's Super Chrome - 'Gun Metal' 3 coats & 2 coats of Nailene T.C. ~

NOTE: this is an older post I never got around to posting. I will be working on my newest nail project and some other crafty things & around the house stuff so I am posting all the posts waiting to be posted.....

The only other true silver polish I own is a Billie polish, which is a PITA to remove foil polish's, but = I love it and it is my go to silver... so I never bothered to add any more. However, I am trying to reduce the wear and tear of harsh removers and foil finish polish sometimes require alot of remover and effort. I planned on picking up a plain silver polish in the future..... How serendipitous that I would find this at a bargain store for $1.50 CAD♥

This polish is a beauty; just a simple silver chrome. I was hoping that because of the name 'Gun metal' that it would be more on the charcoal side... But I can't complain because this polish applied well, was easy to work with and removal was very easy ( plus it was only $1.50 ). There are some brush marks but that is just my hasty, sloppy polish job.

All my photos are indoors under fluorescent lighting.

♥ Naturistics 'Super Chrome' Skittles ♥

Naturistics 'Super Chrome' Skittles = 3 coats each w/ 1 coat of T.C.

NOTE: this is an older post I never got around to posting. I will be working on my newest nail project and some other crafty things & around the house stuff so I am posting all the posts waiting to be posted.....

I got lucky at another bargain store I frequent in my town. All chrome or mirror type polish really need a nail surface that is free of any scratches, dents or other imperfections - because every little flaw is visible when using these types of polish's.  The brand "Naturistic's" is a long discontinued cosmetic line. There is a few beautiful polish's that are eagerly coveted and HTF. I actually had Naturistics 'Crystal Blue Pearl' a long, long time ago and gave it away.

I am not sure of the age of these polish's, I do vaguely remember seeing these on the shelf at SDM more than 10 yrs. ago. My only gripe is the silver opaque bottle = WHY????. This may have turned out in my favor, because when I saw these at the store, I thought that they were just silver polish's, which is why I think they ended up at a bargain store. After purchasing the 2 pinks and purple, I went back to have another look and found the gorgeous blue one; 'Blue Spark' I had totally overlooked it my first visit. This particular store always places their price tags over the name of the color of polish... always! So I have to get down and gently peel off the sticker so I can read what the colors are = DANG!

I have done full manicures with these Naturistics 'Super Chrome' polish's. I have not done a manicure with the Sally Hansen Chrome 'Anemone Diamond'. These polish's are very vibrant and do have a mirror like finish to them. They dry fast and are still easy to work with = even though they are an older polish All my nails are 3 coats of polish, Followed by 1 coat of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat. My nails were in a bad state during this swatching, but the color is true and is a good example of how these 'mirror' finish polish's are very unforgiving and show every little flaw.

I FRIGGEN LOVE FINDING OLDER, BARGAIN POLISH'S!!!!!!!
