♥ Party Like it's 1999 ♥

Base - Black false nails
1 coat of Sally Hansen 'Secrets'
2 coats of Maybelline 'Shooting Stars'
no top coat... this actually ended up being pretty smoothe

I'm calling this "Party like it's 1999" - I am sure that both these polish's are pre 2000...  I felt like a glittery vintage mani for New Years Eve - which I will happily be spending with my man watching movies. I plan to add a little more bling to this, possibly some rhinestones, as I have seen some stunning blinged out nails on the blogs lately.

It was a toss up between Maybelline 'New Years Blues' and a glittery mani. I may torture myself trying to remove this glittery cornucopia tomorrow and whip up a 'New Years Blues' mani.

This Sally Hansen New Lengths polish 'Secrets' was found in a dollar store in my town for $1.50 - on its own it has a rough texture and requires at least 2 coats of Top Coat. Sally Hansen has released this very same shade/type of silver-prismatic coarse glitter many times under different names throughout the years. Maybelline Shooting Stars is a gorgeous dense glitter - a small silver prismatic glitter, and medium sized bar glitter -I wore this as a mani in summertime {photos HERE }I picked this Maybelline polish up at Field's store in my town for $2.00 ( i think $2 ) EDIT - no I got it on sale for $1.00

Below is an award winning fuzzy glitter picture I am very proud of;

♥ Lots of love and thanks to all the bloggers out there putting the time in to share their swatches and nail art, and a special thanks to those who peruse my blog and leave lovely comments. I have learned sooooooo much, and have been inspired to try different things - nail art and techniques, as well as learning about brands and products that I would have otherwise never been exposed to.Best wishes to everyone for a healthy and joyful new year!♥

-Holy Shizzle -

Wow - I hope that this link below works, because every single photo I have ever added to my blog is on this link. I had no idea.......

oops! Thanks April & Ashley of Concrete & Nail Polish , hope the one below is right! I counted all my photos and there are 3823 photos on my blog - THAT IS INSANE!!!!!!!! I had no I dea that I had added that many photos to my blog!

Hope that works. However - it seems I am running out of storage on 'picasa' so does that mean my blog is filled up too, and I will run out of space?

Every week I discover something that totally blows my mind about the interwebs and specifically about  blogs and such. No idea!

♥ LAZERZ ♥

Someone else did this look and blogged abut this in early spring..... I know I have seen this on another blog. I loved it and always wanted to try it...... Sadly it did not work out as good for me, but I still wanted to post it.

Anyhoo- I started with some forgotten Halloween nails which I never used, I buffed off the bat & moon image and applied a coat of black polish, just to even things out . Then used those dental floss pick things to make these lines.....Whoever I copied this look from did a much better job then I did but I really, really wanted to try and re-create it, because it looked soooo cool!

I didn't bother adding another coat of top coat, because I am taking this off shortly. I also snapped my thumb nail in half...Sigh - I used Naturistic's Super Chrome polish's for the laser lines; Ruby Reflection, Gun Metal, Deep Violet & Blue Spark. I love these Super Chromes.

This reminds me of school art time where you put pieces of yarn in paint, then squish them between a piece of folded paper..... I wont call this a total fail, because I learned alot with this 'technique' for future nail art.

I know I have seen this done with much, much better results, hope someone can point me in the right direction!

♥ More skittles....Sorry? ♥

NOTE: this is an older post I never got around to posting.

I wanted to torture myself a little more trying to take photo of Rimmel 'Glam Goth' as well as do some layering with the sheer -but very pretty- Wet n' Wild 'Bijou Blue' & 'Caribbean Frost'. 'Bijou Blue' did end up looking good layered over N.Y.C. 'S.T.D.' - but 'Caribbean Frost' was still streaky.

They are both really pretty colors, very inexpensive and easy to find. I plan of 'fixing them up' in the future. Not sure exactly how to do that, but I imagine it will be lots of fun♥

This polish 'Caribbean Frost' was surprising in that it was still very sheer and a little streaky when applied over NYC Skin Tight Denim. I am hoping I can do a little tweaking with this polish.... not sure what I will do yet.

LEFT- Wn'W Caribbean Frost 3 coats & 2 coats of T.C.
RIGHT -2 coats of NYC STD & 3 coats of  Wn'W Caribbean Frost 2 coats of T.C.

Bijou Blue did end up a little more darker when layered over NYC Skin Tight Denim. It is very pretty on it's own, but I like my polish's to have alot of strength and opacity to them.

merry everything.

Well,
Thank you for all of you support this holiday season. I am off to see the family, and then on a small vacation! The etsy shop will be closed until I get home but if you need me I'll temporarily check my email.
LOTS of huge changes to come this January. Can't wait to share. See you soon.

Here is a hint to where I am off to. xo

♥ Wet n' Wild Mini's ♥

These are some lovely Wet n' Wild Mini's that my Mom gave me in summertime. They are easily 5 years old - but apply perfectly. I don't mind the tiny brush handle, I though that they would be difficult to maneuver.  The colors are pretty and most of these are opaque creme's, which I love. The polish on my middle finger 'Scarlet Red' was messing around with my camera, it really is that bright IRL. I have seen on another blog that Wet n' Wild has released a very pretty holiday / X-mas gift collection, mostly safe for work colors, but very pretty ones.

In Canada, Wet n' Wild prices are the lowest of all the drug store brand polish's. I have found them to be of excellent quality and have beautiful colors and finishes. They have safe 'boring' colors as well as alot of current/flashy colors. The brushes are a tad stiffer than China Glaze or S.H.  Anyhoo- onto the photos. All polish's are 2 coats, with the exception of my INDEX finger - 'Golden Pink' which is 4 coats. All my nails have 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat.

♥ MORE Blue Skittles - Frankens ♥

NOTE: this is an older post I never got around to posting.....

Here are the outdoor photos of my last batch of Blue Frankens, all my nails have 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong T.C. My favorite franken of this bunch is my Middle finger...... turned out exactly how I hoped it would.

MIDDLE - 'Stormy Skeyes' franken
RING - N.Y.C. Skin Tight Denim

 ~ Indoor Fluorescent ~

Posted below is what I used to make these...... when I went to apply them, I literally was shaking the bottle for like 10 minutes. I even added 4 balls instead of two, I had to leave these upside down overnight, before even attempting to shake them, and i did for 10 minutes! But the darkest one 'Stormy Skeyes' is very pretty, so its not totally a bust. Indoor only photos.

♥ Billie - 'Hot Shimmers' Skittles ♥

So I finally have all of this collection called 'Hot Shimmers'. I already had picked up the orange polish 'Burning hot' in spring time. Its strange how sheer the blue polish is, 'Hot to Trot' =  while the others are somewhat sheer.

On the diagonal I have applied 2 coats of N.Y.C. Skin Tight Denim, and layered these polish's over it = which is what I will likely do when I wear these polish's in the future. I was impatient and did not let N.Y.C. Skin Tight Denim dry thoroughly- so on some nails you can see where I picked it up the N.Y.C. with the polish and some polish 'bleeding' is evident.... All my nails have 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat.

THUMB - 3 Coats of Burning Hot
INDEX - 2 coats of Hot Stuff
MIDDLE - 2 coats of Feeling hot
RING - 2 coats of Hot to Trot
PINKY - 2 coats of Hot Pink
