Pink shimmery mani with nail stickers from the dollar store

2 thin coats of Icing no-name bright pink shimmer form an older 5 set of polish's with beautiful nail stickers from a dollar store in my town. I found these stickers at Looney Twoons( lol) dollar store in my town, there are very dainty and pretty. I applied them to my ring nails, added a single holographic hex glitter to the center of the flower and added a coat of Nailene top Coat.

lol-  my polish from my right hand is all over this package. It was hard to open! I thought I could be stealthy with wet nails and get the stickers out. So after I post this I will be redoing most of the nails on my right hand.

orange stripes ( I call this an Ice Cream Mani )

whenever I see a 3 stripe mani like this, I think of those Ice cream treats - they are red, white and blue....
I thought I would destroy my daily mani after a fun paper mache project but my nails miraculously survived.  My base was a no-name orange shimmer/creme from Icing ( Claire's). I applied 1/4" piece of green masking tape to the middle of my nails, then applied a pastel orange shade at the base of my nails, and a shimmery burnt orange at the tips of my nails.

I think the pastel franken has thickened up to the point of un-useable, there were some major ridges from the tape, so I added this lovely Wet n Wild polish which has holographic micro-glitter. I am not even sure what to call them. is there such a thing as  holographic micro-glitter?

Anyhoo - whatever it is called it is very pretty. I have a few of these sheer but dense micro-glitter polish's. they are awesome for layering, and can hide flaws like fluff imbedded in your polish, or small dents or other imperfections while not hiding your base polish or nail art.

the base for this look was a no-name Icing ( Claire's ) polish. It is a creme with shimmer

at the base of my nails is an orange pastel franken

I used a utility knife to cut different thickness from the green masking tape

I used thicker pieces for my thumbs and middle nails, and a thinner piece for my pinky nail

This Wet n' Wild polish; Rock Solid in Sparkling Diamonds is lovely!

New Blogs & another Orange Creme

My mani for the day is 3 thin coats of an orange creme with subtle shimmer form Icing ( Claire's ). This is a bright flourescent polish that still had some bare spots after 3 coats. Most of my orange and yellow polish's have bare spots after 3 or even 4 coats.

I plan on adding something to this later in the afternoon - I am trying to get good use out of the many, many polish's I have, my untried basket volume is at critical mass ( that's a good name for a franken; critical mass.... hmmmmm)

I know that when blogger makes changes, there are usually a few kinks that need to get sorted out, so when I couldn't do certain things on my blog, I had to take a break. I still cannot follow people's new blogs, It says something about Google friend connect; and my craft blog Icon shows up so I cannot follow from deez-nailz -  which means that things will not show up on my dashboard or on Google reader. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Here are some new blogs I have come across recently or have been submitted ( thank you ). It's always fun to see what other people come up with in regards to nail art, and what other products polish lovers all over the world have access to♥

this was in weak sunshine. I did a quick swatch of these 5 polish's below a few months ago.

This was one of the better sets of Icing polish I have purchased.  Very opaque and all dried fast

green zebra nails

here is a fun ( and quick ) zebra mani. Not as well executed as my last two zebra nail looks, this was a rush job♥ I really wanted to get the best out of AVON Electric Green, here I have layered it over a lovely pastel green but still had to use 3 coats to get to a perfect opacity. I added the deep green zebra stripes to help disguise some brush marks and a cracked index nail.

Stuff I used for this mani; Avon Electric Green Icing Green stripe polish and Nailene TC

 last week                                                                                   today

layering didn't help much

I still would need 3 coats to hide any brush marks or bare spots, all I really achieved with layering AVON Electric Green was a bit of a deeper colour. I do love this polish below; Icing Bamboozled Again, and wear it on my toes quite often. Below - on my pinky nail - is 1 coat of Avon Electric Green layered over 2 coats of Icing Bamboozled Again.

Berry Blast Off

This is 3 thin coats of NYC Manhatten, followed by 2 coats of At Deco pink stripe polish, a purposely messy addition of Raspberry glitter and a few of those fake rhinestones set into wet Top Coat. I really should have used 2 coats of top Coat, becuase this glitter textured and marred what should have been a shiny surface.

It's strange how some glitter nail polish is smoothe and only needs a light coat of Top Coat, and some glitter polish needs 2 or even 3 coats to get a shiny even surface. I got these fake rhinestones from the DollarRama and if they are covered by polish, any polish, the shiny finish clouds over. So now I just set them into wet top coat.

These fake rhinestones hung on for the day despite being placed into wet Top Coat..... My thumb nails and ring nails lost a few gems towards the evening but none of them got stuck in my hair.... this time!

NYC New York Color Manhatten, Art Deco Pink Stripe Polish, Icing Raspberry Glitter

I used a piece of spaghetti ( not cooked lol ) to pick up these gems and place them into wet TC

My Right hand, which I plan on adding to more posts.... my left hand gets all the glory

Icing No-Name Glitter...... I think I'll call it Raspberry Glitter

Black french tip mani

2 coats of Icing Sandy Beach, black stripe polish & Wet n Wild Black polish, silver glitter stripe polish and Top Coat. I marred the black tips before I added TC, I went over the messed up area with the black stripe polish and picked it up with my top coat, depositing it on my base polish.

Note to self; stay still until polish is dried.

This was very easy to do. Normally I would use a regular curved french tip guide to make a perfect shape on my nail, but I cannot find the ones I recently bought and suspect I threw them away by accident. I usually do a thicker, chunkier french tip, but I wanted something  different. I think this turned out lovely it was easy to do and adding the glitter makes a wavy wonky line not noticeable.

I have gotten a lot of great use from the silver stripe glitter.

stuff I used - Icing Sandy Beach, Black Strip Polish from The Bargain Shop, Wet n Wild Black, Art Deco Silver stripe glitter, and Nailene Top Coat

When my base polish was dry, I traced the outline of the black french tip area with my new black stripe polish I found at The Bargain Shop - these turned out to be good quality stripe polish - yippee!

fill in with Wet n Wild black  - best black polish EVER!

I added the silver stripe polish following the black line and added a coat of  TC,

Grrrrrrrrr - look at those black streaks!!!!!!!!

New Blogs & franken Get'n Down on the Lowdown

4 thin coats of my franken Get'n Down on the Low-down. The polish I used for the base colour is a bright florescent magenta/purple. Without seeing it in person - i would say that Color Club Power Play is a near dupe, as many of the other colours from Billie Cosmetics are very similar shades to color club polish's. I added a sheer shimmery silver micro-glitter polish in a 1 to 1 ratio for this franken.

a sheer boring gold shimmer, new old stuff and a few more nail blog links I missed yesterday ♥

No-Name Icing gold shimmery polish, 2 coats layered over Naturistic's Chrome in Solid Gold with 1 coat of TC.

This polish, along with the others that came with it in the mini 5 set are very sheer. They are build able but need 4 to 5 coats to hide VNL. I'll have to hunt around for some photos where I compared this to something else.

Also; Here is a few more nail blog links, I thought I had these on my list for yesterday - oops!

...and some old school Nail Fetish nails I found at my favirote dollar store in town.... a long, long time ago I had these in forrest green, they were a gift from my friend 'C' who bought them a gazillion years ago, and I also recieved some from another friend 'A'  as a gift as well. I was surprised to see these in the store, so of course I had to but them.

I am not sure how old these are but I love pre-painted artificial nails

L-R, vampy red, bright copper and shimmery lilac

anyhoo- here is a few more photos of this sheer shimmery polish.

I have layered this sheer gold polish over 2 coats of Naturistic's Super Chrome in Solid Gold
