Sally Hansen Lavender Envy layrered over Nina Emerald City

This is one of my very favorite polish's = Sally Hansen Lavender Envy. It is not as streaky in real life as it looks in these indoor photos. Lavender Envy is no longer in the core line of Sally Hansen X-treme Wear polish's, but there is still a few sheer SH X-treme Wear polish's that look AMAZING layered, [Green w/ Envy comes to mind.}

 I picked this up at a small drug store in my town a few years ago, I totally hated the long stem and the stumpy brush at the time - now I am cool with it. I don't understand why SH changed their bottle shape for each line of polish they come out with......

This is 2 coats of Nina Ultra Pro in Emerald City, I recently wore this and wanted to wear it again {it's that pretty  that I wore it twice in 2 weeks!} After spending the evening whipping up some fabulous earrings my nails were trashed, so i added 1 coat of SH X-treme Wear Lavender Envy and a coat of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat.

I applied paper re-binders to the base of my nail, so the original polish would be visible. I have had the worst luck with re-binders, they always leave a sticky residue - but this time i peeled them off immediately after adding the polish. It's not perfect, but I cannot find a smaller circular sticker to create this "moon-mani"...........

{ this doesn't look this streaky in real life }

 ..... even though the colours in this photo are all wrong, I thought it was a cool pic; I love how glowey the SH Lavender Envy layered area looks!

♥ Wet n' Wild - 'Rain Check' ♥

( grrr, why didnt this post - I posted it at the same time as my post below - DANG! )

Ahhhhhh! Another Wet n' Wild stunner - although this polish is sorta frosty as long as the brush strokes are straight, I'm good. This is a really pretty colour ~ I thought it would be much more silver IRL, but the light lavender is very noticeable in most lighting conditions. = LOVE IT! In Canada, these are $1.57 ( walmart) and $1.87 ( Zellers Dept store ). In my town, I had found that Zellers carries the best selection as well as entire line-up of Wet n' Wild products, while Walmart only has a select few of these Wet n' Wild Wild Shine polish's.

Any other Canadian chicks think we should start a petition to get Pure Ice brand of polish's up here......?????? I am surprised that the Bari line of cosmetics is not available in Canada yet.♥

♥ I L♥VE YOU MOM- Sally Hansen - 'Iris Opal' {layered over black} ♥

1 coat of Sally Hansen 'Iris Opal' over black false nails
PINKY is 3 coats

This is not my greatest polish job- but I had to get this on my nails as soon as possible. I love how this polish looks over black, it is clearly a blue sheer iridescent polish in the bottle, but over black it is this in-describable eggplant bronze, a coppery pink, and a few different shades in between. Way to go MOM!

Every time I go to my Mom's she has a drugstore stunner waiting for me. This is Sally Hansen 'Iris Opal' 1 coat over black false nails. I added 2 coats of my cheap Billie brand Top Coat. This polish definitely needs to be thinned out a little, possibly by adding some clear polish to it. I love the iridescence and duo-chrome this polish has. I think that it the color was watered down, I could use 2 to 3 coats and get the same effect - minus the streaky-ness....

On my nails is 1 coat of Sally Hansen 'Iris Opal' followed with 2 coats of T.C. - My pinky has 3 coats, followed with two thin coats of T.C. As with all sheer duo-chromes and shimmery polish's, I wear them over a deep dark color to really bring out their beauty. No true sheer polish for this girl!

I have like 20 polish's like this = sheer iridescent or sheer duo-chromes waiting to be swatched, and so I thought I would cheat by wearing BLACK false nails to swatch on. However these nails are not reacting well to nail polish remover, and so I will be going back to my trusty Fing'rs brand un-painted false nails, painting them black, and swatching.

Hopefully in the photo below - the blue-ness as well as the iridescence is coming across. On the left is 2 coats of Sally Hansen 'Iris Opal' over 2 coats of black polish, while on the left is 2 coats of Sally Hansen 'Iris Opal' over an acrylic false nail.  Each nail has 2 coats of T.C.

♥ Wet n' Wild 'Sapphire Blue' ♥

 ~Wet n' Wild 'Sapphire Blue' 2 coats & 2 coats of Nailene Top Coat ~

Yippee - I am back to my long "Trophy Wife" nails for now. This is the gorgeous inexpensive polish, Wet n' Wild - 'Sapphire Blue'. For $1.57 CAD this is a exceptional shade of richly pigmented color. The shimmer in this is so pretty, and can be seen in office/average lighting. I have seen this sitting on the shelf at Dept. stores or pharmacies for years and years and never bought it, I used to have a touch of snobbery when it came to bargain brands of polish..... But am I ever glad that I have this.

I am shocked with myself, because I have been wearing this polish plain, just 2 coats with T.C. for almost 3 days...... no glitter, no nail stickers.....

This is two coats of 'Sapphire Blue', followed by 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat. I did have a few subtle bare spots, but I plan on doing some nail art with this beautiful polish. I have seen quite a few items from the Wet n' Wild line on clearance at Zellers stores in my town..... I wonder if they are re-vamping their packaging? I know you can find these polish's all over North America, and I have seen Wn'W products on the blogs from over seas as well ( in super cool bottles ♥ )

At this time, there is a windchill warning for my region of the country, the temperatures are between -25 and -40 Celsius which means instant frostbite. So trying to take photos outside is not happening for me. I know I have seen a photo of this polish in the sunshine on someones blog.....  So all my photos are indoors under fluorescent lighting. I know I can take the cold, but I am worried about my camera and do o not want to risk damaging it in the cold weather.

 Are there any other Wet n' Wild  "Drugstore Stunners" I should know about? There is an amazing Wet n' Wild neon-ish coral that I can never find and can't remember the name, as well as a few traffic stopping Fuchsia's..... off to Google for some swatch hunting!.

Here is a comparison of  Wet n' Wild 'Sapphire Blue'  & N.Y.C. Skin Tight Denim..... 'Sapphire Blue' is lighter, and seems to have more of a lighter base and larger shimmer particles...... or just much, much more shimmer.
