♥ Dollar tree skittles ♥

I found these cute mini polish at The Dollar Tree in Grand Forks USA in summer... they are very nice colors - but the polish is very, very strong smelling. One of the has some weird coagulation at the bottom of the bottle which did not transfer onto the nail. The polish on my middle nail stained my false nail badly.

anyhoo heres a bunch of pics.

♥ China Glaze 'Sexy in the City' w/ Toronto 'M' #28 ♥

'Color Cosmetic # 28' & China Glaze 'Sexy in the City'

NOTE; My posts are allllllll out of order, the internet is angry with me. Uploading pics & typing is difficult for some reason. Anyhoo- here is how I jazzed up a previous mani. I think it turned out very pretty.

How I did this;
  • 2 coats of 'M' Color Cosmetic's # 28
  • 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat
  • Apply Nailene Tip Guides diagonally
  • 2 coats of China Glaze 'Sexy in the City'
  • when dry-remove tip guides, buff any raised areas & apply 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat

I wanted to get 1 more day out of my Toronto polish  - 'Color Cosmetic # 28', so I stuck on some Nailene Nail Tip Guides diagonally across the tips of my nails and applied 2 coats of China Glaze 'Sexy in the City'. When it was dry, I  peeled off the Nailene nail tip guides, gently buffed any raised areas, and applied 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat I find that lately I am into subtle contrast, so I thought that these two colors were similar. Whenever I end up wearing this polish I always ask myself "Why don't I wear this more". ChG 'Sexy in the City' is a beautiful polish. It is perfect for layering over a mani that needs refreshing.

!!!!!  Exciting Photo commentary  !!!!!

Grrrrrr. The hot pink on the packaging of these Nailene French Tip Guides, sometimes messes with my camera. When I have worn polish's that are hott pink or orange, taking a photo without my skin turning orange is impossible. But it certainly is helping to show-off the green iridescence of the GhG 'Sexy in the City'

A low lighting photo which miraculously canceled out the orange tones created by that hot pink packaging.

No hot pink = no orangeness. This photo was taken after I removed the package of Nailene french tip guides. After I removed the tip guides from my nails,  the ridges created by the tip guides are visible. When your nails are slightly wet you can take a chance and gently 'squish' these down with the pads of your finger tip. But - waiting till your nails are dry enough to gently buff with a fine buffer will result in a crisper, perfect line. Usually 2 coats of Top Coat will conceal a raised ridge, too

= How I did this - In photos =

This is a 2 day old mani, that I wanted to get a little more life out of before I removed it. This was 2 coats of this blue & 2 coats of T.C.

♥ 'M' Color Cosmetic's #28 - Toronto polish ♥

- 'M' Color Cosmetic's #28 -
- 2 coats & 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong Top Coat -
- applied over fing'rs false acrylic nails-

Here is the other pretty blue polish I picked up in Toronto. Working with this looooong brush handle was difficult. This polish is a frosty creme, and there is definitely some brush strokes in there. I think that with a 'regular' brush handle I could work out all those brush strokes. This formula was also surprisingly decent, it dried normally and my only complaint is the looong fancy-pants brush handle and again, the smell..... but I am not too worked up over it, I expect these weird, obscure polish's to be stinky.
I don't think I have ever seen a bottle like this before, it's a really pretty bottle for a cheaper bargain store polish. This bottle is 16 ml, which seems odd as the bottle looks alot smaller in volume than most regular drug store polish's.
I will do a skittles with similar colors sometime in the future. At the moment I cannot think of another polish I own that is similar to this. I am extremely pleased about the 2 coat coverage, but I could have used three to even out the brush strokes.

♥ Glittered Up Toronto Blue Polish ♥

mmmmmmm.....chocolate

A broken promise - never to put treats & chocolates on my blog - but this polish is a perfect replica of Lindt LINDOR Chocolates, the yummy blue one.... I had a super hard time trying to find something to compare this polish too.... I am finding that candy wrappers and such are great props as well as color co-ordination for obscure weird polish's.

I Love This Blue...

- stuff I used -

  • 'M' Color Cosmetic # 06 = 2 coats
  • Nailene T.C. = 1 coat
  • apply Nailene Perfect Tips & Toes Diagonally
  • Sponged on Gold Foil to tips
  • 'OUZEYA' Gold Glitter Nail Polish = 2 coats
  • Gently press Holo Hex Glitter into wet glitter polish
  • 2 coats of T.C.

This Blue has me mesmerized. It has a more Sapphire cast to it that the camera is not picking up. I hope to find a polish just like it in a non-stinky formula. The Billie 'Gold' that I sponged onto the tips of my nails totally disappeared, it turned a teal color after I applied the gold glitter - not a good sign...... This Gold glitter from my Toronto haul, was also very stinky. I had hoped to have a less obvious distinction between the Gold glitter and the rest of my blue nails = that the glitter would fade into the blue a little better... oh well, something to work on for next time♥

♥ 'M' Color Cosmetic #06 - Toronto Polish ♥

- 'M' Color Cosmetic's #06 -
2 coats & 2 coats of Nailene Acrylic Strong T.C.
- applied over Fing'rs acrylic nails -

Wow- I was a little worried about these polish's I picked up in Toronto, but they have all turned out to be lovely. The pigmentation is normal  and I was surprised that I only needed 2 coats of this. The brush is fine, there is 16 ml in this bottle - but it seems so much smaller than an average bottle.. This was a 7 on the 'aroma' scale..... meaning~  out of a scale of 1 to 10 these are bearable but pretty smelly.

I loooooove this glowey blue, too bad it's -30 degrees outside because I think that I would benefit from some sunshine for these photos. I am not sure yet what type of nail art I will add to this, I can't stop gazing at my nails and may just leave them plain........

IRL this polish is this glowey, I wish I picked up one more of this blue, if it wasn't so stinky I would replace Wet n' Wild 'Blue Sapphire' with this as my 2nd favirote blue. I will definitely do some skittles whenever I wrap up swatching & wearing all my vacation haul polish's.
