Coconut and Moroccan Oil for Hair
One of my most favorite ways to deep condition my hair is to use pure coconut oil. At room temperature, coconut oil is a solid so it must be heated/melted to be in liquid/oil form. Recently I learned that mixing coconut and Moroccan oil together makes for an excellent hair treatment. Where do you buy these products? Coconut oil can be purchased at most grocery and health food stores and is usually located on the baking aisle. You will want to look for 100% oil and not a blend. It is a solid white substance in either a jar or tub. Moroccan oil is sold in fine hair salons or click here to purchase it online.
So here is what I do for a deep conditioning treatment: Mix 3 parts coconut oil to one part Moroccan oil. I melt the coconut oil in the microwave on just a few seconds as not to get it too hot. Mix together in a bowl and apply to combed hair from the ears down to the tips. Clip hair up and wait for the time of your choice (I like to do anywhere from 30 minutes to a hour) and then get in the shower and shampoo and condition your hair. This treatment can be done once a week. I usually do it every few weeks or once a month. Happy conditioning =)
