There are no set of rules to be followed in fashion. However you need to get out of the box and make a statement. Read to know more:
Understand yourself:
Know yourself and then get dressed. It is rare when a woman really knows what suits her and what does not. Look into the mirror, think, repeat but know yourself. That is the first rule.

Fashion over comfort?
Not really. Unless we are comfortable with what we wear, we can’t be fashionable. Or just because you want to follow the latest trends would you hurt yourself? Jeans that you can’t breathe in or heels that hurt are not doing your image any favor.

Focus on the fit:
No matter what the magazines tell you, the right cut is always perfect. The dress on the mannequin may not always be great on you. Look for a good seamstress. If her / his name gets mentioned often in your party circuit, run to this person!

Groom, groom and groom:
Dirty nails, ugly feet, peeling nail polish are all a huge turn off. A classic woman should always have neatly groomed hands and feet. Chip, file, buff, manicure and file again – but keep yourself well groomed.
Embrace your flaws:
None of us are perfect. Think about all the beautiful ladies who have embraced their flaws – Madonna with her gap teeth or Diana Ross with her big eyes. Sometimes flaws make a person stand out and exceptional.
Color it hot?
Red maybe hot but perhaps not on your lips or cheeks! Learn the right techniques of make-up. Use make-up to enhance your features and not mar your look. After all you don’t want to end up looking like a painted butterfly, do you?
Accessories:
Accessories are great to add that extra zing to your wardrobe. But, assure that it compliments your outfit as accessories can make or break your look.

And the quality…
Quality does matter. It is better to have 5 pairs of quality products than 20 pairs of cheap stuff. Cheap things will not last for long. Get the best you can afford!
Be unique:
Coco Chanel, the famous French fashion designer said, “In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.” Being unique is the most important attribute in all walks of life and fashion is no different. See what makes you unique? How does your style differ from the person sitting next to you? Analyze and set a style for your self to be different.
Wear confidence with smile:
Think Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly. The world loved these women for their confidence, poise and grace. All the outfits, accessories and beauty products mean nothing, if you are not comfortable in your skin. Be confident, smile, love yourself and enjoy each moment as it comes. That is the last rule.
