Catch a Fire

Cedella Marley, daughter of the legend that was Bob, is to design the 2012 Jamaican Olympic track and field kit. According to Vogue, she asked the CEO of Puma why the Marley's– surely Jamaica’s most famous family – had not been asked to design the kit. Two weeks later she was approached. How's that for initiative!

She says the look will be Grace Jones meets Bob Marley, very music inspired and very retro with a hint of Bob and the tracksuits he used to wear. And of course the colours red, gold and green will be included.

Cedella’s label Catch A Fire (after Bob’s first album) was born in 2001 and is a relaxed take on womenswear with ‘a bohemian, Rasta edge.’

We think two of Jamaica’s most famous offspring – Usain Bolt and any one of the Marley family - in collaboration can only be a good thing.
